Mango Baskets & Rickshaw Blessings, A Compendium of Travel Journals by Janet Fredericks is Printed!

                                          front cover

Thanks to the generous support from family, friends, strangers and Kickstarter.com I was able to create a 64 page, 6 x 8" color book designed in collaboration with Craig Dicken of Kaiser Dicken here in Vermont.  The digital printing was done by Pdi in Montreal.  They did a fabulous job on our spiral bound, hard cover wrapped book; a limited edition of 100.  Most of the books are going to folks
who donated on the Kickstarter.com site but there are a few left.  Self-publishing allows for a fair
amount of control over design and content but it is an expensive proposition.  Still, I'm glad I did
it.

I intend to exhibit some of my original journals including travel and sketch books for various art projects.  At the moment I am working with an independent curator who is setting up venues and inviting other artists to participate.  If you would like to see some of my travel journal drawings you can go to my website, http://www.janetfredericks.com/travel.html.  You may also be interested in my "Field Notes" drawings, http://www.janetfredericks.com/prints.html.

Kickstarter Travel Journal Launched!

Sassoon Fish Market, Mumbai, India

People have been telling me I should publish my travel journals for years. Well, I decided to do it myself with the help of Kickstarter  and  graphic designer, Craig Dicken.  I have chosen my favorite drawings from 55 travel journals and we are making a small book of these collected images. You can learn more about the project and how you can support it and see a little video of me and my drawings by clicking on the link below:
